HHCC Inc Introduction
HHCC, Inc. is a General Construction Contracting Company. In addition, HHCC has its Own Divisions specializing in Plumbing, Electrical, and HVACR (Heating, Ventilation , Air Conditioning & Refrigeration).
HHCC’s core business is commercial remodeling, new construction, Design-Build, as well as providing (24-hour) Service for all trades.
HHCC (Health, Home & commercial Construction) was founded during 1989 by Bill Fowler, a long time Austin resident, and a University of Texas graduate.
HHCC started out as a “One Man in One Truck” company, with Bill Fowler as the sole employee. As HHCC’s reputation for quality and honesty in the remodeling industry spread, HHCC rapidly became one of the elite contractors in Central Texas.
With this success, HHCC secured many more projects, ranging from very complex multimillion dollar jobs to simple service jobs. Currently HHCC performs on average around 4,000 jobs per year, and has had more than 100 employees at times.
HHCC became involved in the Plumbing industry during 1996 as a joint venture with Climate Plumbing, Inc., which merged with HHCC as a division in 1997.
HHCC started the first of many remodeling projects for the Driskill Hotel, during 1998. As more Driskill Hotel projects were awarded, HHCC underwent a large expansion. HHCC was fortunate to hire Mark Rawlings, a fellow remodeling contractor, as a painter. Within days, Rawlings’ talents became apparent. Rawlings agreed to replace the Driskill Project superintendent. Soon afterwards, Rawlings became the project manager for the entire Driskill project. Mark Rawlings’ excellent work resulted in several extremely prestigious awards, including the Lone Star Award for the best Historical Restoration in the State of Texas. Mark Rawlings was promoted to Vice President and assumed responsibility for managing HHCC’s Construction Division. In 2007 Mark Rawlings became a business partner in HHCC, Inc., with the added responsibility of being the managing partner.
Other important milestones in HHCC’s growth as a company were its incorporation, as HHCC, Inc. on January 1, 1999; and the relocation of their headquarters from central Austin to a much larger complex in Creedmoor, Texas (near Buda).
During 2005 HHCC formed its Electrical Division. Initially the Electrical Division limited their efforts to service & repair work and in-house jobs for HHCC’s extensive list of customers. During 2007 HHCC had the fortune to bring Scott Devore on board as the director of our Electrical Division and its Master Electrician. HHCC had known and worked with Scott since 2000, when he worked as an electrical project manager on many HHCC projects. Scott briefly left the contracting side of the electrical industry to work with a major electrical supply company. Scott missed the contracting side of the electrical business, prompting his decision to merge with HHCC. The Electrical Division has expanded and excelled under the direction of Scott, providing electrical work on large commercial projects as well as electrical subcontracting to other general contractors.
Also during 2005, HHCC formed its HVACR Division (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) by purchasing the assets of Triton Services, Inc. In this purchase HHCC hired all of Triton’s employees, including their director, Tom Schubert. HHCC had known and worked with Tom Schubert on projects dating back to 1998, when Tom was employed as a project manager by another mechanical contractor. HHCC has always appreciated the professionalism and expertise of Tom Schubert. Under Tom’s guidance the HVACR Division has flourished. HHCC provides HVACR for large scale commercial projects, high end residential, as well as service & repair work. HHCC also provides HVACR subcontracting work to a number of our fellow general contractors.
During 2007 HHCC hired Zach McClinton, as a Tradesman Plumber. Zach worked his way up through the ranks of HHCC, next obtaining his Journeyman’s License and ultimately his Master Plumber’s License. Zach exhibited a mastery of all types of plumbing work. Zach’s exceptional organizational and leadership skills, learned while serving his country in the military, were quickly noticed. Zach was promoted to direct HHCC’s Plumbing Service Division. Zach soon earned the added responsibility of heading HHCC’s Plumbing Construction Division as well. Zach McClinton has been very successful as the manager of the Plumbing Division, performing thousands of jobs each year.
Without a doubt, HHCC’s success is the result of their very talented and dedicated employees. It is HHCC’s Employees that make the company, and that is who we are.
